Gold Coast Junior Tour

We are delighted to invite and welcome you to the Gold Coast Junior Carnival.  2 days, and 5 stages of exciting junior competition. Details of the event can be found below. Come and join us for a weekend of excellent racing and great family fun!

Gold Coast Junior Carnival – Individual (General) Classification
The GCJC will be run in accordance with the AusCycling Technical Regulations which can be found here: General and Road.

The overall winner of the tour in each category will be the rider who has the lowest accumulative time after subtracting bonuses and adding penalties for all stages, including the prologue and criteriums.

Prizes
Medals will be awarded to the 1st-3rd place getters on each of the 5 stages. General Classification podiums will be presented with trophies, and the General Classification winners will each receive a Tour Winner’s towel. 

Catering
Venue catering: We will have a coffee van at the Gold Coast Cycle Centre in Nerang on Saturday as well as in Guanaba for the Road Race and at the Luke Harrop Cycle Track in Runaway Bay on Sunday. We will also be running a canteen in Nerang on the Saturday. 

Travelling from regional Queensland or from interstate? Looking for somewhere to eat after racing? Why not try the Nerang RSL, another of our clubs wonderful sponsors?  They have a variety of food and beverage options to fill the stomach of any hungry athlete, and are just up the road from our Saturday venue!
Cadence Cafe, situated on Nerang Connection Road is also only a hop, skip and a jump from the Gold Coast Cycle Centre and serves a great breakfast!
There are also plenty of food outlets in Runaway Bay both on Oxley Drive and on Lae Drive, for those looking for a spot of lunch on Sunday.

Accommodation
If you’re needing accommodation whilst on the Gold Coast, we recommend staying somewhere in the northern or central parts of the city. Saturday’s racing is in Nerang, Sunday’s racing is in Runaway Bay. 

Tour Stage and Course Information

Saturday
** Gold Coast Cycle Centre, 1 Hope Street, Nerang **
Please note that there is only limited parking along Hope Street, and participants may need to find parking along Martin or Stevens Streets (perpendicular to Hope Street) or in the carpark on the other side of Nerang Connection Road. This carpark is only a very short walk from the cycle centre, across the intersection. Please take care when crossing the roads, and ensure that young children are accompanied by an adult when doing so. 

Sunday
** Luke Harrop Cycle Track, Oxley Drive, Runaway Bay **
Please use the carpark accessed via Oxley Drive, or as for overflow, the carpark accessed via Sports Drive.
